Katniss as Survivor
Before they enter the arena, Haymitch tells Katniss to run in the opposite direction of the Cornucopia to avoid the blood bath of tributes fighting over equipment. Why does Katniss ignore this advice? Do you think she made the right decision? Why or why not? What personality traits does she possess that will help her survive? What do you think is her most important survival skill? Explain your answer.

Katniss is very skilled with a bow and arrow, so when she sees it she runs to it. If she could get the arrow, she could easily kill many of the people in the games.

I think katniss is amazing with the bow. She will survive in the hunger games no doubt. I also think she will be in troubel some times.

I think she went for the equipment first because so she does not have to worry about it later. This is the right decision because if anyone tries to get her then she can shoot them with her bow. The most important skill that she has is using her bow and arrow because of her nice accuracy. One trait that she posses is cinfidence. Munaf D.
ReplyDeleteShe sees a backpack that could have valuable supplies in it. I think it was smart because she wouldn't have gotten a knife if she wouldn't have gone by the cornacopia. Katniss made a wise choice because the back pack had very valuable supplies. All in all, I think it was a wise choice.

She needs that because it will help her with hunting and killing the other people.It will also help her because it is one of her skills that she has been doing since she was a little kid to help her family stay alive and not starve.

She saw a bow and arrow and thats why she ingnored it. She said that she was a really fast runner so she could reach it before many people. Then Peeta distracts her so she couldn't get the bow and arrow. If she had a chance to get the item, she should've gotten it, but I think that she made the right decision to get out of there. She could've died if someone else reached it first and stabbed her with a weapon.

She did ignore Haymitch's advice, but it was wise to do so. If she didn't sprint to the Cornucopia, she wouldn't have gotten the backpack, a very important part of her survival and hope of survival. Because of her short-temper and fortitude, she didn't think of the consequences of funning into the bloodbath, she failed to grab the bow and arrow, but just the same, she grabbed the orange backpack because she didn't want to disobey orders for nothing and she was right to do so. The backpack contained many useful items for survival, but unfortunately it didn't contain water. Katniss' most important survival skill is definitely hunting (archery), because this is a method of getting food and a way of defense of other tributes.

I think she did this because she needed supplies and she knew it would be hard to find that any other place than the cornucorpia. I think this is a good decison becuase she already knows there are stuff there than anywhere else. She has good hunting skills which include snares, fishing and bow and arrow. I think her best skill is the bow and arrow because she will use it the most.

She is very talented with the bow and arrow because of practice and hunting with Gale. She personally I think she did a very wise choice because I would've done the same and get my supplies so then I'm not defenseless and then I can kill the other tributes before they kill me. Her best skill I think is the bow and arrow because she has had lots of practice. I think her traits that will help her survive are motivation to keep her promise that she will come home to Prim and brains to help her make the right choices.

She ignored his advice because she saw the bow and arrow. She new that they put that there just for her. She is very skilled with her bow and arrow. She has had lots of practice with hunting back in the district.I think she made the right choice in going to get the supplies. Anything you get will help in the games. I think her main trait is that she knows how to survive. That is probably the most needed trait in the games also. She knows how to hunt and she knows what plants you can and can't eat. Those two things will help her in the long run.

I think she did this because she is very skilled with the bow and arrow. Also if she would have went the oppisite direction she could have got a bad tool or something she wasn't good at. For this I think she made the right decision. This bow and arrow could have ment life or death to her. Although the equitment she had was good this gives her a better chance at winning. Now she can take out other tributes faster.

I think it was smart because Katniss only grabed the things she needeed I think Katness will make it to the end with her bow and arrow skills and that she knows what plants are edible.

I personally think she did the right thing. Since she is a fast runnner if she didnt hesitate she could of got something better. If she did not get anything her odds would be very slim. Everyone else would have a slight advantage. I think her best advantage is that she is use to having to survive in the woods and eat that kind of food. she can make a fire and hunt. Also she is pretty good with a bow and arrow. Overall, she is very good at her survival skills!

i think katniss is a survivor because she can hunt and is good at it. the best skill for survival i think is to be able to hunt. she is good with the bow and arrow and it will help her survive. i think katniss made the right decision thaking prims place because prim would of died allready.

If she hadn't gone for the bow and arrow then she would have had nothing and would have been basically already dead. With going for it she had her weapon, her strength which she was the best at. If she had gone the opposite direction most likely she would have had to form an alliance right away to survive. I think that she made the right decision to go in after the bow and arrow.

because she saw a bow with arrows and knew she had to get it. yes because that is her weapon she is the best in the games using a bow and arrow. Some of her personal traits is her sneakiness and her caringness. Her sneakiness is her best trait, because she needs it in the arena to get around without being seen.

DeleteKatniss is very talented with a bow and arrows because back at home Gale would help her hunt. When the games started I think that Katniss picked the best choice there was by getting some supplies so when she is out in the woods she is not defenseless to all of the others. Since she got some supplies in the backpack she had things that she could live off of but at some point she would need other things. She would need to get other things because her food my run out and she needed water. With the supplies she had she could go up against someone and have some weapons that she could protect herself. Her weapon that she uses the best to protect herself and hunts is the bow and arrow, and she could be up in the tree killing people.

Katniss needs the supplies to survive. Disregarding what Haymitch tells her. She does get a wound though. When she enters the woods she discovers that another girl had her bow and arrow.

katniss needs wits and supplies to survive. if you dont have wits then you wont last long even with alot of supplies with you. you need to know how to use them and when.

When Katniss see's all of the supplies, she is tempted to get some and ignore's haymitch's advice. I think she did make the right decision because she needs some supplies to help her start off. For example, she finds iodine and if she wouldn't have, she would have died of thrist or sickness. Some personal traits that Katniss has to help her are bow hunting, gathering, being light, and being smart. Probaly the most important is being smart because by outsmarting the other tributes, you can win. Also, there is no guarantee that she can use some of her skills like bow hunting because their may not be a bow in some Hunger Games, or someone else may get it like in the book.

I think it was good for her to get the backpack but it would be bad for her to try go for the bow because other people could easily kill her. Her best skill is to hunt so she can get food and also track down people. she is also light so she can climb up trees. I think the most important skill in surviving is being smart because you can know plants you can eat, how to keep warm but with out drawing everyone right by you

Katniss will very much need a bow. Due to her skills it is an instinct to go out and get the bow and arrows. If she would run away she would have no equipment and it would be hard to survive.

Katniss ignores Haymitche's advice because she thinks that if she runs fast enough she will be able to get the bow and arrow then run off. I personally think she did make the right decision because she ended up getting the bow and arrow without getting killed... Shes amazingly talented with the bow and arrow so that should keep her alive for a while, she's good at hunting and has many tips and tricks on how to survive in the wild from her dad. I think her most important survival skill right now is to keep hunting for food so she doesn't go starving in the arena.

katniss ignores haymitch because she needs a pack to get or other wise she wont survive. she also sees a bow and arrow that if she gets it she can beat anybody that is in a certain distance. she knows that she can survive if she gats that bow. i think that katniss made the right choice to go for the pacs other wise she would had died in the forest with no water bottle and she would not have survied with out the crackers. a good thing to be about katniss is that her dad showed her the different roots, plants, and berries. also another good thing about katniss is that she has very good survival and hunting skills. because without her skills she would surly died right in the beginning.

Katniss ingrones Haymitch because she sees a backpack with valuable items and also a bow and arrow. But there were too many people there and the backpack was open...so she went straight towards that backpack. She made the right descision because there are items in the backpack that help her survive through-out the games.

Obviously, she ignored his advice because she knew very well that she needed something from the Cornucopia to survive. Even though she did not reach the bow and arrows in time she still got the backpack and eventually got the bow and arrows back. She definitely did the right thing because it helped her tons. I think she gained confidence from containing the arrows because not only did she have plenty of skills for shooting the arrows but also just having them there game her comfort that she has some way to keep safe. By far they most useful skill she has is the bow and arrow to get her food and to kill the enemy.

She made the right decision to get the backpack because she didnt go that far into the conucopia bloodbath but she stayed away and got a backpack with helpful supplies. She probably didnt listen to Haymitch because she was so tempted to get the bow and arrow because she is highly skilled with bow and arrows.
